Geico.com Review

Geico is well known insurance company in the USA. The history of this company begins already in 1936. The company had good and bad times, but all the time it had creative ideas and it revolutionized many things on the insurance field. But today we are looking at Geico from the mobile point of view.

If we speak about the site in general then you will not be surprised here you can find a lot of things connected to insurance. There are lists where you can select what kind of insurance you are looking for. In the right column you can see the Geico’s videos. We enjoyed very much the Geico’s video advertisement. They are not boring and long clips about prices and rates. These are short videos having creative idea. You should obligatory have a look even if you don’t need the insurance, because they are really funny.
Mobile section
This is the section we are looking for. Here you can find some interesting mobile things. The first and most important is the Geico’s mobile version (m.geico.com). This is specially resized and adjusted version of the normal site which works with all the mobile devices. There are only some functions provided and the site looks quite empty but it still useful and can offer you some useful services. This page is not so much visited but maybe you will know about it and find here something useful, like:
Claim
For example you can get a quote (there are shown some phone numbers for you to call). Using mobile version you can manage your policy (you just need an user ID and a password). If you are not satisfied with something and you want to write a claim but you have only mobile phone in your hands, this would be enough to manage this.
Auto how to’s
This are short manuals concerning your car. On the one hand they are very funny on the other hand they can be useful for people having problems on the road. There are advices how to check tire pressure, how to change a flat tire, how to jump start a car and some more.
Fun stuff
If your car is working fine but you still have some free minutes, and you don’t know what to do. Maybe you should visit this section because here you can find so many interesting things. There are videos (136)- most of them are Geico’s commercials but as it was already mentioned they are so cute and funny , that is worth to have a look at them. There are ringtones, well actually the files are located on the myxer.com (we had a review about this site). But you will get direct links to those Geico ringtones and possibility to them download the easily.

The site Geico.com has some links to external resources that probably can be useful in different situations (like buying a new car or some links to vehicle resources).
Applications
If this was not enough for you, you can download a special application supported by iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone 7, iPod Touch and iPad. And get even more function and better usability in that case.
There is an application which works only on Iphone 3Gs and Iphone 4. Using this app you can just take a picture of your driver’s license, provide Geico with a few details about yourself and thety will send you a quote.
Games
They are called arcade apps for Android or Iphone but they are actually small arcade games for killing the time. We have tested only playing baseball. We weren’t especially impressed but still they work and make you smile. The Geico Company promises to make some new games in coming future.

Site drawbacks

The design of mobile version is rather old stylish. Some sections are created but they still look empty because of lack of content. This part of the site needs new applications new FAQ’s and materials from a normal version of the site

Our summary and verdict

We have found statistic it shows that more then 60 percent of Geico’s clients are satisfied or very satisfied. The price of insurance will pleasantly surprise you. Most of all by Geico we liked its sense of humor and irony. The site is not perfect but many things make you smile (even the advertisement) and you forget that something was bad or not interesting. We consider that the site is very good built but still needs improvements and enlargements. On this page you get not only the new insurance for your car, but some advices and even free mobile games to play and to remember Geico. So the company has brought something new not only on the field of insurance but even in the mobile sphere.
